What is ASMR
If you've ever felt a tingling sensation on your scalp or the back of your neck while listening to certain sounds, you may have experienced Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR). ASMR is a unique and relatively new form of sensory experience that has been gaining popularity over the past few years. It is a physical sensation often described as a pleasant, tingling feeling that can start at the top of your head and spread throughout your body. The most common type of ASMR involves auditory triggers, such as whispering, tapping, scratching, or other soft sounds. Some people may also experience visual triggers, such as watching someone complete a task with their hands. While the triggers can vary from person to person, the resulting sensation is always the same – a tingling feeling that can be incredibly calming. People use ASMR for a variety of reasons. Some use it to help them relax or unwind after a long day, while others use it to help them focus and concentrate. It can also be used as a form of meditation or to help with sleep. Some people find that they can achieve a deeper level of relaxation through ASMR than they can with traditional forms of relaxation, such as yoga or meditation.
